  • Where does the company name come from?

    Like a coursing river always carrying fresh water, we seek constant innovation. “River” reflects our key management ideals of source, creation, and innovation. Japanese writer “Kamo Choumei” begins his essay “Houjouki” with the words “The current of the flowing river does not cease, and yet the water is not the same water as before.” As a whole, the river’s flow may seem forever unchanging; a closer look reveals constant flux. We view technical innovation in a similar light. ELETEC is derived from electronics and technology.

    We are involved in research, production, and sales of electronic components, primarily quartz crystal components such as quartz crystal units and oscillators.

  • What are RIVER ELETEC’s core competencies?

    Our strength lies in our strategy of narrowing our market target to the small product market, enabling us to develop and mass produce the smallest size products with high quality and high performance ahead of any other manufacturer in the industry.

    The key to this development lies in our own development capabilities and the establishment of processing methods to realize them. Among these methods, our proprietary electron beam sealing method and direct metal-to-metal sealing method realize the microfabrication and high hermeticity required for sealing small quartz crystal packages at a higher level than the sealing methods of other companies.
    In addition, since most crystal devices are custom-made products, it is necessary to adjust the product characteristics according to the customer's circuit design. We are involved with our customers from the circuit design stage and build a relationship of trust by providing prototyping and design support from the component side to meet their requirements.

    Our company's crystal devices are characterized by their small size, high quality and high performance. As a result, more and more products are being sold for cutting-edge fields such as smartphones, wearable devices, and the Internet of Things.

    It is built into all kinds of electronic devices such as smartphones and automobiles, and plays a role in the accurate operation of all mechanisms.

    Our company's policy is to pursue miniaturization of crystal devices, one of its strengths. We are constantly working to develop products of the same size but with a wider frequency range, and to further improve reliability and quality. We are also developing technologies for the next generation.

  • Describe the RIVER ELETEC sales network.

    Our sales network consists of domestic sales offices in Tokyo and Osaka and a liaison office in South Korea. Elsewhere, wholly-owned subsidiaries River Electronics (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., Taiwan River Co., Ltd., and Xi’an River Electronics Corporation in China allow us to meet customer needs in timely fashion around the world.

    Our company products are used in smartphones and automobile-related equipment of major manufacturers. We have refrained from disclosing the names of specific suppliers and products for the convenience of our business.
